Greek writing: write your first name in Ancient Greek! NEWEach child will be shown displays of the various alphabets used in Antiquity and will write his or her first name on a parchment. At the end of the workshop, children will relate what they have noticed about the differences and the difficulties they had in comparison to their mother tongue.
Goals: familiarisation with different forms of the alphabet and playful approach to writing.

Mythological route NEWGreek gods: origins and attributes (questionnaire). Children are invited to look at the statues in the Antique Gallery with the aid of a questionnaire.
Goals: introduction to the principal Greek myths and the philosophy of the ancient world, development of observational abilities.

Draw the ancient gods NEWDraw a god, a goddess or a hero following the model of the statues in the Antique Gallery.
Goals: exploration of movement, of proportions, of drapes and of the aesthetic of Greek and Roman statuary.

Create a maskProduction of masks inspired by comedy and tragedy.
Starting with moulds of Greek theatrical masks, children will make their own composition on paper bags, which they will decorate with stamps.
Goals: learn about and use basic materials for art such as bronze, earth and stone in a playful manner.

Decorate a plateCreation of plates decorated with patterns taken from Greek vases (paper plates)
Goals: discovery of the main geometric patterns used in ancient decorative art.
Extras:Workshops are accompanied by presentation of numerous objects: masks, musical instruments, parchments and papyrus, various models (Greek house, temple, ship, Trojan horse...).
Children will leave with a bag full of things they have made. If they wish, they may take part in five workshops within the available time.

Conference: birth of the alphabet NEWEvolution of writing, techniques and backgrounds (papyrus, parchment, etc.).

Writing workshop NEWLearn to write a few words in Greek on a parchment, in order to explore the alphabet.
Each child will be shown displays of the various alphabets used in Antiquity This module will enable them to discover the Greek roots of words in the French language. At the end of the workshop, pupils will relate what they have noticed about the differences and the difficulties they had in comparison to their mother tongue.
Goals: familiarisation with the alphabet and the language and multicultural approach to writing.
